Snow Day

Today was a pretty good day. Schools were closed, so Beaver's daycare was closed as well. I took the day off instead of having my mom watch Beaver. It started off with breakfast & errands with Ma and Beaver. While we were driving, I told Ma that I'd been thinking about giving Beaver a playmate. She was much more receptive to the idea than I'd hoped. There are concerns, but I think I can address them and hopefully by the end of the year, I'll be ready to start trying. There's alot of backstory here, but that will have to come later.

I was also FlyLady productive today. I'm on babystep day 3 now and got & stayed dressed to lace up shoes. This is the step that I usually skip because I don't wear shoes at home, but this time I'm trying to REALLY commit to the system. I'll play Mr. Rogers when I get home and change from dress shoes to comfy sneakers. Now I just need to get a new pair! I put away everything I bought while Beaver was napping, emptied the dishwasher, put away laundry & started 2 new loads (which are sitting in the washer & dryer as I type). I made both beds (which I never ever do) & Beaver helped. I even did today's mission by sweeping the front porch!

Tomorrow's step is to write things down. I already did a bit of that while Beaver was at gymnastics today. I started lists of things to get, house projects, things to do, and nighttime routine.

All in all, it was a full, rich day.

FlyLady - Day 1 (again)

I've been a FlyBaby for almost 3 years but I've never gotten past day 4 or 5. So here I am on day 1 again. My sink is shining and I'm on my way. This is the first time I've kept any kind of log, maybe it will help me to stay on track. I really do like the FlyLady system and it makes sense to me. I just need to stick with it.
